"I remember the first time I saw my face on the cover of a magazine. It was a front side air, from Lower Trestles. At that time the thought of being on the cover was almost unreachable, but with the hard work and dedication that John Keppler showed to me, and many of the other up and coming professionals, anything seemed possible. John spotted talent and determination inside of surfers, and then helped their careers mature into who they are today. Such surfers include, Bobby Martinez, Timmy Reyes, Joel Centeio, myself, and so many others. Now as a result, this group of young surfers are among the best that the USA has to offer. Through John, we were able to get the exposure we needed to get our image into the public eye and into the major surf magazines. He was always working to open doors for our careers in hopes that we would become what he always KNEW we'd become.
