We arrived to sticky heat and fun surf, to a cool little fishing town, and an air conditioned condo that fast became our new best friend. Let’s just say the pool water was warmer then the Jacuzzi water, and why they even had a Jacuzzi, I still don’t know.... The summer time weather is their most extreme heat, and I hear that in the fall and spring it's as nice as it gets down there. Except for flooding my water housing the first day, this trip was fun filled and pretty out of control. But what happens in Punta De Mita, STAYS there.

I will say this, there is really fun surf all around, but without a guide or local knowledge as where to find it, you may end up missing out on the real Punta De Mita. And here I give a Shout Out to Kalle Carranza who got us from the airport and took care of us all the way through, getting us to the best spots to surf, and the best places to eat! The surf town of Salulita is about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, and there are so many good waves around there that if you know where to find them, you will SCORE good surf.

The Punta de Mita township is located in the state of Nayarit, by route of a 45 minute windy, two lane highway from Puerto Vallarta, or about 30 min by hired boat, which ever you prefer.

Punta Mita's friendly people greet you warmly, offer a wide variety of shops, restaurants (on the beach), and is made complete with golf, horse back riding, and plenty of fishing.

Across the street from our condo were numerous restaurants, bars, beaches, and boats for hire. No matter what your direction in headed to Punta De Mita, whether it’s fishing, golf, or just relaxing in the sun, this little town is about as quaint as it gets.

SURFERS: Kalle Carranza, El Tigre, Alex Gray, Raymond Reichele, Justin Wiegand, Justin Munyon.
